Bina, Robbie 2001 Graduate - Athlete
Robbie excelled in all three sports he participated in at Grand Forks Central which is demonstrated by the fact that he was named all-conference in all three sports as a senior. In football, Robbie was all-conference defensive back as a senior and was selected to play in the North Dakota Shrine Bowl. In hockey, Robbie led the Knights to a third place finish in the state tournament while also being named a Mr. Hockey finalist. He was an all-state selection and represented Team North Dakota at the Chicago Showcase. In baseball, Robbie was on the 2000 state championship team and was an all conference player on the state runner-up team as a senior in 2001.
Robbie proved that you don’t have to concentrate on one sport to be a college athlete. After a couple of seasons of junior hockey in the United States, Robbie played collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota. He believes that what helps set GF Central apart from other high schools is “The lunch pail attitude that we bring to whatever we do. We work hard and put everything we got into whatever it is: in the classrooms or on the field.”
His significant memory of GF Central is: “All of the times being able to put on a jersey and try to represent Grand Forks Central High School to my highest capability.”
Robbie is currently playing professional hockey in Germany for the Wolfsburg Grizzlys.
