Jake was an excellent three-sport athlete at GF Central.  He was a key member of two state championship teams (2005 Football and 2006 Baseball).  In football, he was both an outstanding quarterback and linebacker having been named first-team all-state at QB as a senior and second-team all-state at linebacker in his junior season.  He was co-offensive MVP as a senior.  In baseball he was a standout pitcher earning MVP honors at the state tournament and all-state during his senior season.  He was also all-state in basketball as a senior and all-conference and all-state in each of the three sports.  Jake earned nine letters during his athletic career at GF Central.  He went on to a successful four-year career as a quarterback at the University of North Dakota.

Jake’s favorite memories are “winning the state championship for the first time in 59 years in football my senior year along with winning the state championship in baseball my senior year as well”.  Jake believes what sets GF Central apart from others is “The history and the traditions of the school”.  “During my time at GFC all of my teammates played multiple sports.  We played for one another and it wasn’t ever about our own personal accomplishments, it was always all about the team.  We had some great coaches in my time at GFC as well.  The seasons changed. but the players usually stayed the same for all of the sports we all played!”

Jake currently resides in La Crosse, WI where he is the offensive coordinator and QB coach for the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.  He wishes to thank his parents for all their support throughout his time at GFC even when it was hard to support him.  He was born and raised around GFC football and always thought of a lot of those coaches as family as well.
