Ken Towers (1967-1976) was the first boys basketball coach in school history, leading the team to the 1969 State Championship. His teams also finished State Runner-Up in 1968 and 1970. Ken was named the North Dakota High School Activities Coach of the Year in 1968, and was the National High School Athletics Coaches Association Nominee for Basketball Coach of the Year in 1977. Ken was named to the North Dakota High School Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame in 1987. In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Ken has been a long-time and generous supporter of high school and youth sports in the Greater Grand Forks community.
