• Charyl Weingarten

  • Charyl Weingarten (1994-1999) participated in tennis, basketball, and track and field at Red River. Charyl was a five-time state champion in javelin and was the first North Dakota athlete to win five straight state titles in the same event (javelin). In tennis, Charyl was a three-time individual state doubles champion and a four-time team state champion, never losing a singles match during team competition. As a member of the basketball team, Charyl was named to the All-Tournament state team in 1997 and All-State team in 1998. She was named the NDAPSSA Female Athlete of the Year in 1999. Charyl was awarded a full athletic track and field scholarship to the University of Oregon, where she received All Pac-10 Conference honors in 2000 and 2001, was a NCAA National Championship qualifier in 2002, and earned All-Academic honors in 2002 and 2003.
