• Sarine Weingarten

  • Sarine Weingarten (1991-1996) participated in tennis, basketball, and volleyball, earning 10 varsity letters over six years. Sarine was the first four-time State Tennis Singles Champion in history winning 1993-1996 and runner-up in 1992. The NDAPSSA awarded Sarine the Special Achievement Award in 1996 for this accomplishment. Sarine led the Red River Girls Tennis Team to five consecutive EDC and State Team Championships winning 1992-1996; she was the EDC Tennis Singles Champion and named All-Conference and All-State those same five years. In 1996, Sarine was named Miss Tennis of North Dakota, NDAPSSA Female Athlete of the Year, Grand Forks Herald Female Athlete of the Year, and was also a Wendy’s High School Heisman National Nominee. As basketball team captain, Sarine was once nominated to the All-State Tournament Team, and twice All-Conference. Sarine earned a full scholarship and played Division-I tennis at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. from 1997-2000 lettering all four years. Sarine was voted onto the Atlantic-10 All-Conference Team three times and was also team captian.
