Craig Riendeau (1994-1997) participated in football, basketball, track and field, and legion baseball during his time at Red River. On the gridiron, Craig was a three-year letterwinner and 1st Team All-EDC/1st Team All-State selection in 1997. Riendeau was a talented receiver/defensive back for the Riders and will forever be remembered for his aggressive play, blanket defensive coverage, and punishing tackles. A starting centerfielder for the Grand Forks Royals, he played on consecutive state runner-up teams from 1996 to 1997 and finished with the program’s single season and career batting average record. After high school, he played football at the University of North Dakota, where he was a standout on the 2001 National Championship team, a two-time All NCC player, and a First Team All American in 2001.
