About Our School

  • I am thrilled to welcome an exceptional group of students and staff to Community for this school year! Together we share a unique way of approaching high school. Each day we strive to promote "Another Road to Success" in high school by creating a customized learning experience for each student. Our mission as a school is to create an alternative path to success, one student at a time. This school year, it is my hope that students and staff embrace our school’s mission to "Charge! Down the Road to Success." Our school is a lot like a charger: one by one, we ask each student to plug into our school and find success in ways they never thought possible.

Our alternative high school opened in 1985 as a non-traditional education option for students in Grand Forks Public Schools. Community is one of three high schools in Grand Forks, ND. With over 1,100 graduates, our school provides a unique structure, smaller setting, and distinctive instruction for students.

Any high school student aged 16 or older may enroll at Community. A team of professionals works each day to meet the unique needs of our students. All of the required courses for high school graduation are offered as well as a small variety of electives.

Our school houses two other academic programs for adult students. Our Adult Learning Center offers GED preparation classes and English language instruction. The Adult Transitions Program provides post-high school instruction for adult students.

Our school is built around our students. If you are interested in enrolling at our school or simply wish to visit, please stop by the school or call anytime!
