Welcome to Grand Forks Central High School - "Home of the Knights". Central has been the home to tradition and excellence since 1882 and graduated its first class of students in 1887. Since that time, thousands of students have graduated from Central High School. It is this strong alumni base that continues to guide and support Central today.
Currently, we have nearly 1,000 students in grades 9-12. The majority of our students go on to further their education in 2 and 4 year colleges. We are excited to announce that we recently earned Level 1 Certification from the Marzano Research Institute as part of our work to become a High Reliability School. Level 1 certification is based upon efforts in the areas of safety, support, and collaboration.
Our staff at Central is committed to offering the best possible experience for each and every student. We have an experienced staff of 90 teachers, many of them with Master's degrees in their field of expertise. In addition, a number of support staff personnel assist our staff each day. In total, 140 adults come to work at Central each day. Their commitment to the academic development and personal growth of our students is one of the reasons we successfully meet the needs of our students.
Check out our web site if you are planning a move to Grand Forks. You will find plenty of information to answer questions you may have about our school. If you have any additional questions, drop us an email and we will assist you in any way we can. A student that lives anywhere in the Grand Forks Public School District may attend Central High School.
We look forward to a new school year as we begin classes for 9th grade students on the first day and 10th-12th grade students the following day.
Go Knights!
Mr. Jon Strandell
Principal
