What is Grand Forks Virtual High School (GFVHS)?

Grand Forks Virtual High School (GFVHS) is a fully accredited public high school option through Grand Forks Public Schools, designed for students in grades 9–12 seeking a flexible, alternative pathway to graduation. GFVHS serves both full-time virtual learners and students enrolled in traditional schools who need credit recovery. Operating within a semi-hybrid model, GFVHS allows students to work independently and at their own pace while staying aligned with the district’s academic calendar and state standards. With core courses delivered through Edgenuity and electives offered via the North Dakota Center for Distance Education, students receive personalized support from GFVHS teachers and mentor advisors through regular virtual check-ins, ensuring academic success in a non-traditional learning environment.

Interested in Grand Forks Virtual High School?
Are you curious if GFVHS is the right fit for you? If so, please complete the Virtual High School Interest Form.
Submitting this form will prompt communication from the GFVHS staff. 

The Fall 2026 preregistration is open now through Friday May 1st.  Preregistration is the first step in the enrollment process but does not guarantee placement in the virtual high school.  Families will be notified about enrollment in mid May after the preregistration window closes.  Please reach out to Andrea Altpeter if you have any additional questions or concerns.
