Fuka Named Grand Forks Central Girls’ Tennis Head Coach

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Grand Forks Public Schools is pleased to announce that Matt Fuka has accepted the head girls’ tennis coaching position at Grand Forks Central High School.

A graduate and former student-athlete for Grand Forks Central and the University of North Dakota, Fuka has been an assistant boys’ and girls’ tennis coach for Grand Forks Central since 2011. In addition to his coaching experience with the Knights, Fuka has offered private tennis lessons for competitive and recreational play.

Fuka earned his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from UND and is currently employed as a Research Engineer for Microbeam Technologies, Inc. of Grand Forks.

“After serving as the interim head coach for the abnormal spring of 2020, we are excited to have Matt take over the 2021 program for his first competitive season as a head coach,” said Mark Rerick, athletic director at Grand Forks Public Schools. “Matt’s knowledge of Grand Forks Central, our current athletes, and the Grand Forks tennis community as a whole will allow him to smoothly transition from the assistant to the head coaching role.”
