GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Grand Forks Public Schools is requesting feedback on allocating Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) II and III funds.
The online survey, available at https://forms.gle/yN2LjySDEE1kd2vC7, provides an opportunity for stakeholders to share their input on how to best use the allocated funds. The survey will close at the end of the day on June 22, 2021.
Grand Forks Public Schools will receive approximately $26.7 million, and the expectations from the state of North Dakota are that school systems should focus on student learning and achievement. Specifically, at least 20 percent of ESSER III expenditures, which is approximately $3.7 million, must address learning loss and mental health.
Grand Forks Public Schools has received criteria from the state of North Dakota regarding allowable expenses. All expenditures must be submitted for reimbursement. Any projects/items submitted that do not meet the criteria would not be reimbursed and the school system would incur the cost.
The school system will complete the ESSER II application by the end of June. The application window for ESSER III is expected to open in August 2021.
