Grand Forks Public Schools to Hold Facility Open House
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Grand Forks Public Schools will hold a Facility Open House, guided facility tours of public schools within the city of Grand Forks, on September 23. Tours will begin at each school at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
This is the community’s opportunity to visit buildings and learn from school administrators and custodians regarding the state of facilities.
Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Terry Brenner has recorded a 13-minute presentation regarding the school system’s facilities, budget, and the special election, which is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVH2cBmp8D0.
The Grand Forks School Board has called for a special election on September 28. There is one question on the ballot: increase the building fund by 10 mills.
The election will be held at the Alerus Center (1200 S 42nd St.). Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
The County of Grand Forks is administering absentee balloting. Absentee voter applications are available from both Grand Forks County (151 S 4th St., S10.) and Grand Forks Public School District #1 (2400 47th Ave. S). The application can also be found at https://www.nd.gov/eforms/Doc/sfn51468.pdf.
Absentee ballots and envelopes will be distributed by the County of Grand Forks upon receipt of an absentee voter application. Absentee ballots must be postmarked by September 27, 2021.
