Lorenz Resigns as Head Football Coach at Grand Forks Central

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Grand Forks Public Schools has accepted the resignation of Bill Lorenz from the head football coaching position at Grand Forks Central High School. Coach Lorenz is retiring from this position following 15 years as the head coach. Prior to accepting the head coach role, Coach Lorenz was an assistant with the Knights from 2002-2006 and served as the defensive coordinator for the 2004 state runner-up and 2005 state champion teams. 

“Since taking over the head coaching position in 2007, Coach Lorenz placed an emphasis on continuing the tradition of teamwork, commitment, and persistence that had been established at Grand Forks Central,” said Athletic Director Mark Rerick. “His dedication to the football team was evident throughout his tenure. Coach Lorenz set a high expectation for character growth within his program as he focused on developing productive young men for the community. In the past 20 years, Coach Lorenz has been an integral part of the pride and passion that exemplifies Grand Forks Central programs.”
