GFPS Employees and Families,

Last week, the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) made changes to some procedures related to COVID-19. Individuals identified as close contacts would not need to quarantine if both parties were wearing a mask during the time of exposure.

Effective Monday, October 19, neck gaiters will no longer be considered an approved face covering, as they do not meet the face covering requirements per the NDDoH.

The graphic below indicates approved and unapproved face coverings. If a student does not have access to an approved face covering, they can visit the main office at their school where an approved face covering will be provided. These face coverings can be washed and reused. If someone wears an unapproved face covering and is determined to be a close contact, they will not meet the new NDDoH requirements and will need to quarantine for 14 days.

If you have any questions, please call the main office at your student’s school. Thank you.
