Earlier today, Grand Forks County Public Health officials updated their County COVID-19 Dashboard, which highlighted Grand Forks County moving into Red/Severe Risk.
Grand Forks Public Schools’ Smart Restart plan states that all schools would be closed when the county is in Red/Severe Risk. We have been communicating with local public health about our plan and recognize:
The COVID-19 positivity rate of students and employees continues to be low, <1%.*
Shifting immediately to remote learning would be difficult for working parents/guardians.
Our plan at this time is to:
Keep schools open on Wednesday, October 21st and the week of October 26th,
Continue to closely monitor our internal COVID-19 positivity numbers,
Monitor Grand Forks County case numbers, and
Temporarily suspend spectators at extra-curricular events.
We will review and update our Smart Restart plan and will provide additional information to you on Friday, October 30th.
If you have any questions, please contact the main office at your building. Thank you.
